Women in Science 2026 | 6th Edition

On 12 February 2026, the Université de Namur in Belgium will host the 6th edition of Women in Science, an annual event dedicated to advancing gender equality and diversity in science and technology. Taking place from 09:00 to 17:00 at the Université de Namur (Rue de Bruxelles 61, 5000 Namur), the event brings together researchers, students, educators, and institutional stakeholders committed to building a more inclusive scientific community.

This full-day event aims to promote women’s and girls’ access to scientific and technological fields and to support their full and equal participation at all levels. Through discussions, exchanges, and inspiring contributions, Women in Science 2026 will highlight the essential role women play in research and innovation, while addressing persistent gender gaps in STEM disciplines.

By fostering dialogue and sharing experiences, the event offers a valuable platform to encourage equal opportunities for all genders, raise awareness of diversity challenges in science, and inspire the next generation of scientists. Organized under the banner of inclusion and excellence, Women in Science continues to strengthen its impact as a key annual gathering for gender equality in academia and beyond.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science - 11 February 2026 - 9.30 am-5:30 pm

A hybrid one-day event will take place on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at UNESCO Headquarters, with both in-person and online participation available. Held under the theme “From Vision to Impact: Redefining STEM by Closing the Gender Gap”., it will highlight the role of new and emerging technologies and examine their impact on advancing gender equality in STEM fields.

Call for Paper- Gender and Justice in MENA (Jan. 2026)

Call for Papers: Radical Imaginations – Rethinking Gender Justice in the Middle East and North Africa

The Centre for Law, Religion and Society (University of Galway, Ireland) is pleased to share a Call for Papers for the workshop Radical Imaginations: Rethinking Gender Justice in the Middle East and North Africa.

The workshop will bring together scholars working on gender justice, law, lived experience, and social change across the MENA region. It aims to create space for critical, interdisciplinary conversations that rethink dominant frameworks and open new analytical and political possibilities.

The event is supported by the NUI Grant Scheme for Early Career Academics 2025 and will be held at the University of Galway on 6-7 July 2026.

Submission deadline: 31st January 2026.
